WEBINAR: Learn How Toyota Kata Can Deliver Focused Improvement For Your Organization

April 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Stop making “recreational improvements” and start moving the needle to drive your business towards achieving desired goals. What’s the secret? Toyota Kata!

Webinar Overview:
If you are familiar with martial arts or have ever seen the 1980’s hit movie, “Karate Kid”, then you already have some insight as to what it means to practice a kata.

The way in which Mister Miyagi teaches Daniel Son Karate is completely reliant upon practicing katas! Who remembers “Wax on. Wax off.”?

Toyota Kata is much the same!

Through “Coach” and “Learner” interactions, the Coach is able to help the Learner develop continuous improvement capability. By practicing patterns of scientific thinking, the Coach helps the Learner maneuver through unfamiliar territory to reach a desired outcome.

Join Sarah Burlingame a Senior Project Manager at TDO for a webinar on April 17th. Participants will discover how to leverage the “Improvement Kata” and “Coaching Kata” patterns that have helped Toyota develop their world renowned continuous improvement culture. Understand how brain science backs up the daily practice of these patterns. Real world examples will illustrate how the “Improvement kata” maximizes resource utilization by ensuring improvement activities are aligned with business goals.

What you will learn:

  • The 4 steps of the Improvement Kata
  • The 5 steps of the Coaching Kata
  • The importance of focused improvement vs. recreational improvement
  • What a “Knowledge Threshold” is and why it is important
